Kiama has a great selection of eateries.. Here are some of our go-tos..

Hanoi on Manning (Vietnamese) does great pho, salads and evening meals. The salt and pepper squid is to die for and the special fried rice isn’t bad either. Booking is essential for dinner. Closed on Tuesday.

Uncle Fuku - New for 2026, this Japanese-themed tapas and cocktail bar is one-of-a-kind. Featuring the longest happy hour in Kiama (3pm - 6pm Thursday thru Sunday), an extensive small plates menu (including Peking Duck pancakes - YAY), excellent cocktails, free vintage video game console (Pacman, Galaxians, Spacies, Dig Dug etc), a darts board and, wait for it, a Karaoke room (sound-proofed for your convenience - bookings well in advance essential). Open on a Monday too, which is a bonus. And yes, they’ve heard all of the jokes about the name!

Miss Arda - We resisted going to Miss Arda because it’s on the main drag (Terralong St) and so probably a bit touristy. Boy, were we wrong. This is top-notch grub - Middle Eastern-inspired tapas and mains. We had about 7 things from the menu, they came out gradually, and they were all A-grade. The hummus is the best you’ll find anywhere. The lamb is exceptional and the rice that it comes with is worth the trip alone. I could go on. Don’t be put off by the location… book in advance and you’re going to have a good time.

Frida’s Cantina - Excellent Mexican food served in a chill location on Collins St. We keep going back to Frida’s because it is consistently fantastic. The service is great, the menu extensive and the quality 10/10. There are tons of specials on Monday to Friday https://www.fridascantina.net.au/menu. Pro tip - Mondays and Tuesdays are jammed because a) it’s great b) quite a lot of places in town are closed. Bookings for dinner are essential any day of the week, especially so Monday and Tuesday. Enjoy!

Fillmore’s - Winner of Kiama’s most chilled venue (as awarded by me), Fillmore’s is the best place in town for an alternative to the pub. The bar has a good selection of crafty taps that you won’t find anywhere else in town. Plus, there’s a great selection of cocktails with alcohol-free options, chill tunes, occasional bands and DJ's, a vegan food menu, and not a TV or pokie machine to be found anywhere - the perfect venue to go and chat with mates, meet new friends and chill. Happy days. Currently open Fri, Sat and Sun.

Loui’s is a recent addition on Manning, serving up pizza and pasta in a chilled, relaxed setting. It’s kinda new, so they are still working out opening times. Check with the venue.

Silica is also on Manning, but up by the surf beach. This is pretty high-end for Kiama, so we limit it to special occasions - but if you’re only here for a few days, every day is special! By day it’s a coffee shop and takeaway, so don’t get the wrong idea. The restaurant is upstairs. Open Thursday - Sunday.

The Grand Hotel is ever popular. They usually have 3 or 4 specials on display in the bar, and the seasonal menu is pretty decent. You’ll need to book a table in the bar, outside, or in the dining room on Friday and Saturday.

Cin Cin Wine Bar is located away from the centre of town but makes for an excellent destination for a cruisy 30 to 40-minute walk along the awesome coastal path from Kiama. Located in Kiama Heights, this tapas place does probably the best food in town. There, I’ve said it. And it’s not even expensive. The fayre is billed as Mediterranean but very much leans towards a Greek influence. The menu, wine list, service, presentation and quality are all rating 10/10 for us. And not only us - at the time of writing, Cin Cin was rated 4.9 on Google - when does that ever happen? While we were there (early November 25), we could see whales jumping from our table on the terrace. While this place is not much to look at from the street, don’t let that put you off. The Hungry Monkey is a popular spot for coffee and lunch. The breakfast roll is a personal favourite, though you will need a shower afterwards. It kinda goes everywhere. They also have a good selection of fresh fruit juices and excellent coffee—the perfect destination after a dip in the Continental Pool.

The Robertson Pub is a 40-minute drive away but is well worth the trip. Firstly, the road between Kiama and Robertson is epic and includes the Robertson lookout and the Carrington Falls - both of which are well worth a look. Secondly, the Robertson pub is a great old Aussie pub with a fantastic seasonal menu. The Grand is owned by the same people as the Robertson pub, so you’re going to get the same quality grub but even better. Plus they make their own beers - the Pilsner and English-style IPA are both excellent and (currently) can only be bought in two places in the world - Robertson and Kiama! Highly recommended!
